Weather Satellite

Please wait ................. takes  time to load (images here)

I started my interest with weather back in 1997.  I purchased the Proscan weather satellite receiver from Timestep and a cross element turnstile antenna from Cirkit.  The antenna was mounted high up on my house, giving me a clear field of vision from horizon to horizon.

This combination gave me excellent pictures from orbiting weather satellites.

Unfortunately I became a little bored and loaned it to a friend. Not to be seen again until recently. So my interest has started again.

I have moved into a very difficult location (apartment building)  11 floors high with another 11 floors above me. Solid concrete and steel.  So this has created many problems. Lack of space for antennas, Pagers which give me severe interference and restricted sight to horizon, as I face easterly therefore giving me access only to that direction.

I built myself the Chris Van Lintz QFH antenna from plastic piping and coaxial cable. (with a lot of help from many RIG members due to wiring confusion - Thanks to you all).

So now the talking has finished here are my first pictures.
